The Rollei Giro 70WA is one of a series of Giro named compact cameas made by Rollei. The main difference between models is the lens fitted. This one has a useful 28-70mm. The lens is a Rollei HFT type (HFT is the coating used which is equivalent to Zeiss T Star coating - in fact, it was developed in conjunction with Zeiss.) I can't find any details of the lens design but many Rollei lenses are Zeiss designs and as this one has the HFT coating, I'm assuming this is one of them. I already have a Yashica compact that I use occasionally and get good results from and I'm expecting this to be a similar camera. I haven't extensively tested it but there's a couple of shots from the first roll below. Most compact cameras sell for very little money on ebay. I paid £10.50 for this one. Most are probably not worth bothering with. A few that are known to give good results still command high prices, then there are the ones like the Rollei which, I think, can match most of the high priced compacts but sell for low prices. Bargains I think.
